John Martin, one of the most enduring politicians in Maine history, lost his bid to return to the Legislature on Tuesday.
In the 1990′s I drew Martin as a king, wearing a Burger King crown, when he suggested that the State House be moved to Eagle Lake.
The drawing caught on, and I continued to draw him that way, until term limits undermined some of his power.
